Services
Meetings - Meetings provide a fabulous opportunity to learn more information about all the health and educations issues that surround raising a child with Down syndrome. Meetings also provide a great chance to network with other families who have children with this genetic disorder that make them so dear to our hearts.

New Parent Packets - These packets are offered to families faced with the news that their new baby has Down Syndrome. Provided to area hospitals, these packets are loaded with information that is helpful to new families as they navigate through the sea of information relevant to raising a child with Down syndrome.

Hospital In-Services - These educational in-service programs are presented to area hospital personel to help them learn how to deal with giving the diagnosis to new families as well as discussing the health issues that new parents are faced with.

Lending Library - This lending service provides free access to hundreds of books that pertain to everything you need to know about Down syndrome. From health issues to educational challenges, these books are sure to help you find the answer to specific questions you might have.

Educational Symposiums - The DSAC offers 1-day educational symposiums covering a wide varietyof topics relevant to individuals with Down syndrome. National speakers are invited to speak on their specialties.

Annual NDSS Buddy Walk - In conjunction with Down Syndrome Awareness Month, every year in October our support group joins other family support groups nationwide to walk and raise contributions and heighten awareness about Down syndrome. A portion of the funds raised are allocated to the National Down Syndrome Society a national organization dedicated to research in advancing the quality of life of individuals with Down syndrome.

Summer Camp - The mission of the DSAC Summer Camping Program is to offer a special and safe place where campers can share common experiences, discover new abilities, develop friendships and enjoy the beauty of nature. In it's second season, the program serves children with Down syndrome ages 9-16 in the greater Charlotte area.

Small Age Appropriate Groups - Divided by age, these social groups provide fun outings and activites for all family members.
